Strokes

Strokes are among the most serious medical emergencies that can happen to nursing home residents.

When an elderly resident suffers a stroke, every minute can matter. A stroke can cause permanent brain damage, paralysis, difficulty speaking, loss of mobility, cognitive impairment, disability, and sometimes death. Over the course of my career, I have investigated and handled claims involving the following types of stroke-related injuries:

◊   Stroke Misdiagnosis

◊   Delayed Stroke Response and Identification

◊  Nursing Home Strokes

◊   Failed and Delayed Stroke Medication Dispensation

A stroke is not always preventable, and not every stroke is the result of negligence. However, nursing homes, hospitals, and other healthcare facilities have an obligation to recognize changes in a patient’s condition and respond appropriately when there are signs that a stroke may be occurring. Ignoring warning signs can be devastating.

Below, I outline my research articles on strokes, delayed diagnosis, failure to recognize stroke symptoms, and related medical malpractice claims.

If you have questions about a specific claim or whether you may have a viable stroke case, I encourage you to contact me for a FREE consultation via the contact form below or email.

I have spent years investigating serious nursing home and medical malpractice cases, including claims involving strokes, delayed treatment, and injuries caused by a failure to recognize a patient’s changing medical condition. That experience has taught me that what happens before and immediately after a stroke can be just as important as the stroke itself.

When an elderly resident begins showing signs of a stroke, the real questions begin immediately. Did anyone recognize the warning signs? Was the resident’s condition properly assessed? Did staff notify a physician? Was 911 called when it should have been? Was the resident transported to a hospital quickly enough? Did the medical team properly document and respond to the symptoms?

These questions can become extremely important when determining whether a stroke was simply an unfortunate medical event or whether a delay in recognizing and treating the stroke caused additional and potentially preventable brain damage.

My consultations are also 100% free. If your loved one suffered a stroke and you want me to review what happened, fill out the contact form below, call the number at the bottom of this page, or email me through my personal email.

You and your family have enough to deal with already. I am here to help you understand what is happening and how you can assess if warning signs were properly recognized and treated, and help you understand whether someone should be held accountable.

Wishing you and your family strength and courage during this difficult time.

Warmly,
